Back in July, we chose the Fairbanks Children’s Museum as our charity for the YPN/GFBR Charity Golf Tournament. This month, we’re all getting together and volunteering our time at the next Museum Without Walls event.

As of 7a.m. this morning, the Stuart Creek 2 fire has grown to 64,750 acres and is only 5% contained. Currently, the evacuation order for Residents between mile 18 and 34 mile CHSR is still in place. 26 mile to 50.5 mile recreation is off limits to the public until further notice.
According to the Daily News-Miner,
“An emergency shelter was set up at the Weller Elementary School at 2.5 Mile Chena Hot Springs Road. Weston said Sunday night that she’d been told about 20 families had arrived at the school.
Sunday evening, the University of Alaska Fairbanks Police Department sent out a message that some housing and showers were available on campus “for affiliated persons.” They can contact conference services at 474-6769.
